Hello Everyone,
I can’t believe it is already February. January was intended as a bit of a rest month but it turned out to be rather exciting. Last week my record label organized a disc presentation for me. It was something else! They had it made specially. It was an enormous frame with a picture from the cover of The Gift and the numbers 14,000,000 to commemorate the amount of my albums people had bought around the world. Each of the zeros was a gold CD. The big wigs were all there and there was a very touching speech. It was great to see all the people from the record label and we had some champagne and canapés. It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. I felt very loved.
My manager Andy also received the same disc only with his name on it and Steve Mac, the man who has produced both my albums got one as well. I think they were as pleased as I was. It was so good to see them both being recognized for their hard work and tireless patience.
I also had a house warming party in January - new year, new house! I had a very lovely gathering with close friends and family. I am getting used to living there now and feel very safe and comfortable. It is close to my old family home so I am still a part of the community I love and grew up in.
Thank you to everyone who sent me letters about my Book, The Woman I Was Born To Be. It’s so interesting to see that many of us have common experiences and memories. The book is going to be coming out in paperback quite soon - bit cheaper! So I will keep you updated.
I am really looking forward to this year. In March I hope to attend the Scottish Variety Awards and to get back into the studio. I have already started discussing song choices with my team.
The last two years have been wonderful and I have to keep reminding myself that this is all real. To do it again a third time is a real privilege and I’m so looking forward to travelling again.
Thank you as always for your comments on the website, for your wonderful letters, cards and gifts. They are all appreciated greatly. I will write again soon.
With love,
Susan.
