There's no place like home! Susan Boyle beams as she attends the local village gala in her hometown of Blackburn today

Susan Boyle couldn’t hide her delight as she attended the local village gala in her hometown of Blackburn, West Lothian today.
The multi-millionaire singer was the guest of honour at the annual event and despite worldwide success and recognition, it appeared as if the acknowledgement of her hometown was the most important thing to Susan.
She positively beamed as she walked the red carpet in a matching trouser suit with a tartan collar and red shoes.

Young girls in pretty dresses held up an arch of pink and white flowers for her to walk under and Boyle didn’t seem to mind as it hit off her head.
Other highlights including Susan posing for pictures with Disney characters Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck and some delighted youngsters, who were clearly thrilled to have the former Britain’s Got Talent finalist in their midst.
Susan showed off her playful side as she arrived in an open-top convertible.

The 51-year-old singer appeared fascinated with a toy monkey in the car beside her and was seen joking around with it.
Susan also triumphantly raised her arms above her head and was seen laughing uproariously as she sat in the car.
Susan moved out of her semi-detached home in the West Lothian village and into a new £400,000 home after she found fame.

However, the performer famously missed the house where her parents had lived and the daily contact with her neighbours so much that she came home.
She told pals she was desperate to return to her modest semi because it's where she feels happy and secure.
Today Susan got into the spirit of things at her house by decorating the end of terrace house with flags and bunting in honour of the occasion.

Fans of the star will be happy to see her in good spirits after she threw a tantrum when she had to wait for coffee at a motorway service station just over a week ago.
She is said to have yelled ‘I just want to go home’ before launching into a foul-mouthed tirade and bursting into tears.
Parents covered their children’s ears and onlookers were shocked into silence as the woman catapulted to fame on Britain’s Got Talent went into meltdown.

However,  a source close to Miss Boyle said: ‘Everyone knows that Susan is not able to express her emotions as many would which adds to her frustration.
‘She wanted to go home as she was tired and upset and wanted  to be in the sanctuary of her  own house.
‘She is very grateful for the amazing life she is now living and wouldn’t swop it for the world.
‘Susan is very sorry to anyone she upset.’
A spokesman for Miss Boyle declined to comment.

Thank you for sharing your great pictures.  These pictures show a very happy Susan enjoying the day with friends in Blackburn.  I love the wave to fans as she rides in the parade car. Susan Boyle -Mull Of Kintyre- Windsor Pageant 2012

Paul McCartney Mull Of Kintyre Lyrics

Mull of kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh mull of kintyre
Far have I traveled and much have I seen
Dark distant mountains with valleys of green.
Past painted deserts the sunsets on fire
As he carries me home to the mull of kintyre.

Mull of kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh mull of kintyre
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/p/paul+mccartney/mull+of+kintyre_20105667.html ]
Sweep through the heather like deer in the glen
Carry me back to the days I knew then.
Nights when we sang like a heavenly choir
Of the life and the time of the mull of kintyre.

Mull of kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh mull of kintyre

Smiles in the sunshine
And tears in the rain
Still take me back to where my memories remain
Flickering embers growing higher and higher
As they carry me back to the mull of kintyre

Mull of kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh mull of kintyre

Mull of kintyre
Oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here
Oh mull of kintyre

Susan’s best video result

7th June 2012
Last week we asked you what your favourite ever Susan video was. As a testament to the incredible breadth of Susan’s performances and the overwhelming love of her fans, we were truly inundated with responses. So many of you shared personal stories of your favourite Susan video, the memories they instilled in you and what the song meant to you. Of all the amazing responses, there was one that stood out as being a seminal moment in Susan’s life. A song that captured the hearts of millions across the globe, it was of course Susan’s beautiful version of ‘I Dreamed A Dream’.

Another hugely popular choice was Susan’s version of the Madonna song “You’ll See”. This is a stunningly emotive performance that perfectly depicts Susan’s musical journey into the consummate vocalist that she is today.

I enjoyed reading (patron to the Regal, indeed) this paragraph that was in the middle of the article:

“I was rubbing shoulders with the likes of Peter Mullan and Ken Loach, and next week I’ll be meeting Susan Boyle who is the patron to the (Regal) Theatre in Bathgate (where Scott is artistic director).

Kathryn Joosten and the myth that youth is always king

Joosten, clutching the first of her two Emmys, which she won in her 60s. (Fred Prouser - Reuters)
A career in Hollywood is meant for the young. That’s a truth that has been self-evident since the earliest days of cinema, when audiences first looked in awe at a luminous, wrinkle-free face blown-up large on a massive movie screen.
But the recent deaths of two well-known figures served as a reminder that the entertainment industry’s youth-is-king rule, like all rules, occasionally does get broken.
On Saturday, character actressKathryn Joosten — best known as the ever-faithful Mrs. Landingham on “The West Wing” and the cranky yet sympathetic Karen McCluskey on “Desperate Housewives” — died of lung cancer at the age of 72; the next day, “Family Feud” hostRichard Dawson died of esophageal cancer at age 79.
Career-wise, the two traveled different paths, but they shared one thing in common: The successes that made them famous didn’t come their way until both were over 40.
Dawson was a known actor and personality in his 20s and 30s, thanks to stints on “Hogan’s Heroes” and “Laugh-In,” as well as “Match Game.” But the gig that ultimately defined him was as the smooth, smoochy host of “Family Feud,” a job that began in 1976, when he was 43.
Joosten’s case, as many of her obituaries noted, was even more striking; she was 42 when she left her profession as a psychiatric nurse and started acting full-time. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream at the age of 55. Ten years later, at 65, she won the first of her two Emmy Awards.
That’s an inspiring narrative. But what’s even more inspiring is that Joosten is not alone in her industry, even if all those Demi Lovato magazine covers and OMG-peppered celebrity blogosphere comments often make us forget that. Many accomplished actors and artists didn’t make it big, or even get their start, until they were at or near what we typically think of as midlife.
John Mahoney, the man who occupied memorable roles in “Moonstruck,” “Say Anything...” and on TV’s “Frasier”? He left a career as a medical journalist to become an actor when he was almost 40.
Susan Boyle sang famously about “dreaming a dream” on “Britain’s Got Talent” a few days after her 48th birthday. Now, at 51, she’s a multi-millionaire who recently performed during the queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant.
Although many knew who Jon Stewart was before he landed on “The Daily Show,” he didn’t achieve household-name status until, at age 37, he became America’s premier political satirist.
Oh, and George Clooney? You’ve probably heard of him. He didn’t break     out big until he started treating patients on “E.R.” at the age of 33, and, arguably, didn’t become a bona fide movie star until he appeared in Steven Soderbergh’s “Out of Sight” when he was 37.
Yes, dewy faces and legs devoid of varicose veins are still the norm in celebrity-land. That’s the circle of pop culture life, the one that keeps the rising-star-osphere spinning and allows preteens to continue rolling their eyes at their parents for not knowing who Carly Rae Jepsen is. (Pssst... she sings “Call Me Maybe,” that pop confection that has already permanently implanted itself in your brain and will remain there for the entire summer.)
But Joosten, Dawson and others prove that it is still possible after a “certain” age to figure out what your signature something is and go do it. Is it rare? Yes. But it is possible. In a culture that, for better and worse, is often led by celebrity example, that’s reassuring to know.
After all, if people have managed to do it in Hollywood, the land where the repair of broken dreams usually involves a few hits of Botox, it can be done anywhere.

Susan Boyle is Dreamin’ of piano stardom

Published: Today at 00:57

SINGING superstar Susan Boyle is taking piano lessons so she can play on her new album.

SuBo, 51, has been desperate to learn the instrument since buying one two years ago.
The I Dreamed A Dream star has hired a local tutor to teach her how to tinkle the ivories at home in Blackburn, West Lothian.
And she hopes to show off her keyboard talents on her fourth release.
Last night a source said: “Susan loves the piano and always dreamed of being able to reach a standard which would allow her to play on stage and on her albums.
“She is apparently doing really well with the tutor.
“Susan’s determined to become a pianist and it would be wonderful if she was able to play in front of all her fans.”
Her management declined to comment.

Susan Boyle Meets the Queen of England!  A dream come true!

Susan Boyle Jubilee Pageant

Report in RTETEN

Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle is reported to have had an emotional outburst at a motorway service station in the UK.

Boyle - Reportedly had to be calmed by an aide
Boyle - Reportedly had to be calmed by an aide
The singer is said to have shouted "I just want to go home" before swearing at a fellow customer and crying while waiting for her takeaway order at Burger King last Thursday.
Boyle, who is currently appearing in the musical I Dreamed a Dream, had stopped to order food at the northbound services on the M6 in Knutsford, Cheshire when the incident happened.
An onlooker caught footage on her mobile phone of Boyle yelling: "I just want to go home, I want to go". She reportedly had to be calmed by an aide.
A restaurant customer said: "The girl behind the Burger King counter kept apologising for the wait for her coffee. Susan seemed a bit confused.
"When she went to sit down, a man asked her: 'Are you okay?' She then just flipped out and started screaming at him."
The Daily Mail has quoted a friend of Boyle as saying: "Everyone knows that Susan is not able to express her emotions as many would which adds to her frustration.
"She wanted to go home as she was tired and upset and wanted to be in the sanctuary of her own house. She is very grateful for the amazing life she is now living and wouldn't swap it for the world. Susan is very sorry to anyone she upset on Thursday evening."

Susan Boyle's "Someone To Watch Over Me" was 20th

Not bad to be listed as one in the top 20 albums 2011 world-wide.

From reports on Twitter, came a story of Susan being upset in a Burger King Restaurant last night on the way home.  She and the team stopped for a bite and something must have upset Susan.  We really don't know what went on there, as it is all hearsay.  There were a few newspaper reports on the incident, but I do not care to post them here.  I have posted the links below if you care to read more.

Below is a statement that was reported made by Susan:

“Susan is very sorry to anyone she upset.”

In the mean time, I went back today and took a look at the beginning.

It was a yes from Amanda
It was a yes from Piers
It was a yes from Simon
And it was a victory sign from Susan.  Don't you just love it!
