Collaboration ... Susan duets with Michael Crawford on Music Of the Night
Los Angeles, Nov 10 Singer Susan Boyle has joined forces with Michael Crawford for a soulful rendition of “The Music Of The Night”, their version of the hit from the musical “The Phantom of the Opera”.
The new version features on the 51-year-old Scottish singer’s new album, reports thesun.co.uk.
The soothing tones of Crawford’s voice compliment Boyle’s high pitch perfectly as they duet on the popular track, which was made famous by Crawford when he recorded the original alongside Barbara Streisand in 1993.
Boyle has had a busy year in 2012 after performing with the Queen, making a return to “Britain’s Got Talent” and performing with her childhood hero Donny Osmond in the US.
Susan’s fourth album “Standing Ovation” will be released Nov 19.

Talking about her album Susan said; “I have been a fan of musicals since I was a wee girl. I love them and have enjoyed the drama and the range of emotions they inspire in you. I still remember the first time I saw Les Mis, my all time favourite. I fell in love with it and have seen it now countless times as each time you watch it you draw something different.
Creating this album was a joy and came very naturally as I knew the songs and could identify with the characters in the studio. Recording with Donny on two songs was a dream come true. Working with him was awesome and I learned so much from him as a performer and a person. Being in the studio with him was without doubt the best day ever - it wasn’t work!”
Known best for her element of surprise and a powerful and heart stopping voice, Susan has become a global top selling artist. With phenomenal album sales, record breaking achievements and multi platinum chart domination, Susan has come a long way from the Britain’s Got Talent stage in 2009.

Susan Boyle: I fear my stardom will end as quickly as it began
THE Scots singing sensation says she is tormented by her inner demons which have led to tantrums and meltdowns.

SINGER Susan Boyle is tormented by fears that her success and fame will end, she revealed yesterday.
On the eve of the release of her fourth album, Standing Ovation, the Scots star spoke frankly of the inner demons behind her much-publicised tantrums and meltdowns.
Susan, 51, was catapulted from obscurity to global stardom in 2009 when her sensational Britain’s Got Talent audition video – of her singing I Dreamed A Dream – was viewed by millions round the world.
And even No1 albums on both sides of the Atlantic, her own musical and a personal fortune of £22million can’t convince SuBo that her rags to riches story might not end in tears.
Susan admitted: “You worry that everything will end and you’ll be back to obscurity.
“Because everything happened in such a whirlwind fashion, I worry it will end as quickly.
“What I have learned to understand is that it’s down to me to stop constantly fretting and that the only person who will cause it all to end is me.
“I’ve got better over the years but every so often I do panic that it will all be over. You worry people will stop liking you or they won’t buy your albums or they won’t think you are good enough. I’d like to continue for a wee while longer.”
Susan added: “I have to accept that in life you are forever learning new things. Maybe that’s where some of the frustrations lay. I’d beat myself up if I couldn’t do something right the first time or if I feel that I could do better.
“But I’ve got to accept I’m human, not perfect and this life that is mine now is a continual learning curve.”
Susan believes she has now become more patient with people and has also lost the fear of flying which plagued her before.
She said: “I don’t get quite so anxious. In fact I enjoy the long-haul flights. It gives me a bit of time to switch off and watch movies without the guilt of thinking I should be doing this or that.”
She added: “I’ve grown up a bit. I’ve matured. I feel less scared. I found with singing, I could communicate when words would often fail me and I’d get frustrated.
“Singing removed me from the life I was living and I could become someone totally different,
untouchable. Instead of laughing at me, people would applaud me and be positive.”

The new album is a selection of her versions of big musical numbers including Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Memory.
But one of the songs had particular resonance for Susan, from Blackburn, West Lothian.
Out Here On My Own took her back to her unhappy childhood of “very few friends, taunted and bullied. Cigarettes stubbed out on my arm”.
But she reveals: “I’ve forgiven the people who tormented me. They still live around Blackburn and it’s not healthy to hold grudges, now is it?”
Which is just as well because, despite her riches and buying a new house, Susan is happiest in her parents’ home where she grew up.
She said: “This is my home. It keeps me grounded. My roots are here, so are my friends and family and I’d never want to move away. I’m also incredibly proud of my hometown and the values we have here.
“We are a good bunch, a great community and now I feel like I fit in more. I’d never want to leave.”
This year, as well as singing to the Queen as part of her Jubilee celebrations and to 60,000 at Celtic Park, Susan sang with her childhood hero Donny Osmond.
Given she once skipped school at 13 to see the Osmonds, meeting Donny was massive for Susan.
But her self-doubt emerges again when she recalls the performance.
She said: “I was a little nervous to be performing with him. I didn’t think for a second I was good enough to be performing alongside someone of Donny’s calibre.
“He’s a legend and I only see myself as semi-professional these days so it felt a tad odd. I was cross with myself for being shy around him.”
Having met and sung for the Pope and the Queen, most of Susan’s dreams have been fulfilled.
But she’d still like to work with Rod Stewart, Mumford & Sons and even Jay-Z. She laughed: “I think I could do that. He could rap, I could sing.”
What she wouldn’t do is a reality show. With I’m a Celebrity back this weekend, Susan is sure she wouldn't be tempted by any of them.
She laughed: “I’m like a baby elephant with two left feet so I couldn’t do Strictly Come Dancing. As for Dancing on Ice, you’d have to strap two cushions to my backside as that’s where I’d constantly be.
“I got asked to be in a diving show recently, which is hilarious because I can’t swim and I’m utterly terrified of water.”
Standing Ovation is the album I've always wanted to make. My fourth album in three years and probably the one I am most proud of.
You see, I have a long standing affiliation with musicals. As a wee girl the family would often congregate round the TV watching the old classics,South Pacific, Mary Poppins, Oliver, Fiddler on the Roof and then as I got older I went to see my first stage musical Les Miserables and from there I was hooked, captivated and I loved the way you could transform yourself into another world with the emotive lyrics.
This album is also extra special to me as I got the chance to duet with my childhood idol Donny Osmond. Not only did we record together, I was then invited to sing with him in LA on Dancing With the Stars and then to Las Vegas to perform in his show at the Flamingo.
It was a surreal experience and one that I will never forget. I was so nervous before going on stage, I can't begin to tell you. It's one thing meeting the person you have idolised since you were 13 but to have to get up on stage, well I felt like I had a severe case of stage fright. It was so overwhelming but at the same time so exciting that another dream had come true and another box ticked on my bucket list.
This year I have wanted to get far more involved in promotion for the album. I'm less weary of talking to people and I felt I wanted to give back something to say thank you for all the support that has been given to me by so many over the past few years.
I will be signing albums in HMV in Glasgow and Edinburgh, I have a trip to New York to do performances on the Today show and some other great shows and see my old friend, Piers Morgan. I'm performing on a host of UK TV shows including the lottery, This Morning, Lorraine and I'm very excited to be able to support Children In Need again this year. That evening is one of the highlights for me.
I have become a little more technologically savvy this year too and taken part in some Twitter Q&As. Despite temperamental internet they have been great fun to take part in and I really enjoy all the varied questions. Not only does it give me a direct line of communication to fans which is so vitally important I can also reassure people that rumours that pop up are simply not true. I've also helped come up with questions for a new facebook app. It was fun to create these questions and see how well people know me and also musical trivia.
It has been another fantastic year- I've tried to rise to the new challenges and settle my fears that this will all be over soon. I'm enjoying myself more and feel that life in my career as well as in my personal life is getting better. Here's hoping you enjoy this album as much as I enjoyed making it.

Hello, I’m sitting having my hair and make up done in the kitchen and thought now would be the perfect opportunity to share some news.
It’s definitely getting busier as we near the launch of my new album Standing Ovation. Still can’t believe it’s my fourth in three years.
Last week I went to Gothenburg in Sweden to do some interviews and a performance for their New Years Eve show. I loved it, the weather was a bit cold but the people made up for it. This week I’ve been practising and rehearsing more songs from the album for upcoming TV performances both here in the UK and the US.
On Saturday I will be performing on BBC1 on the National Lottery show, I think you can all guess which song from the album is most apt for this! I’ll have to make sure I have my numbers handy and buy a ticket. On Sunday we are off to New York for the album release on Tuesday 13th November. It’s an exciting town to be in and I’ll be busy but I can’t wait for the trip and I’m hoping to start my Christmas shopping there as well as do a little sightseeing. It hasn’t all been hard work, I’ve had some fun as well.
I held a Halloween party at my house which went with a bang and I dressed up as Dorothy just for a laugh. We played games with the kids, had a go at bobbing apples and told ghost stories. It was an interesting evening and we all had lots of fun. The house was decorated with Skeletons everywhere and when I got back home from Sweden I almost jumped out of my skin.
Last night I was at Celtic Park, watching them beat Barcelona 2-1. The atmosphere was electric, I was ecstatic at the result, we were all punching the air and dancing! Never did I think that we would win so triumphantly. I also met Paolo Nutini at the game, he happened to be sitting right in front of me. What a lovely man and we had a nice chat. He was with his Dad and they were both charming. It was also nice to meet him as I sung his song Autumn Leaves which was on my third album, Someone To Watch Over Me. He personally thanked me for singing it, which was very humbling, it’s a song I enjoyed performing and I was so pleased he enjoyed my version.
I’ll keep you updated with my news in New York and I hope you enjoy my album as much as I enjoyed making it. (It’ll make a great Christmas present!)

Susan travels the world showing woman it can be done and never give up on your dream. This tiny little super star has given power to women all over the world to follow their dream. Powerful women set the example for others to follow. Powerful women help mankind. Powerful women just do it. Susan should definitely be on your list of powerful women, as she has shown by example and in a quiet simple manner, what a powerful woman is.

The film was used for joint promotion in both the UK and USA for broadcast and web purposes. Featuring a mixture of interviews and documentary footage the film was shot over two days in Susan’s home town of Blackburn, Scotland, supported by material from the studio and tour footage of her and Donny Osmond’s opening performance at ‘Dancing with the Stars, USA 2012’.
