Susan Boyle In Concert: Susan Boyle

Global singing sensation Susan Boyle is taking to the stage in her very first live tour, 'Susan Boyle In Concert' in July 2013.

For the very first time in her phenomenally successful career, Susan will be holding her own on the stage performing a sensational and contemporary repertoire of iconic album tracks and never heard before classics that will captivate and enthrall the audience.

The exclusive seven night tour in Scotland heralds a new era in her successful career. Susan's show is set to be the hot ticket of the summer, showcasing the voice the world fell in love with. The show will comprise of songs including the now legendary 'I Dreamed A Dream', 'Wild Horses' and 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow', as well as 'River Deep, Mountain High', one of her all time favourites, plus a host of spectacular surprises on the night.

Scottish singing sensation whose little-known talent became a media sensation overnight following her April 2009 audition for Britain's Got Talent. Boyle eventually finished in second place on the show, having now become a worldwide figure of interest, and in spite of the strain of being in the public eye for the first time, 'The woman who shut up Simon Cowell' released her debut album, 'I Dreamed a Dream' in November 2009 - just seven months after her fateful audition. Known best for her element of surprise and a powerful and heart stopping voice, Susan is still a global top selling artist. To date her four albums have sold over 19 million copies and stormed to the top of the charts in over 30 countries.

Looks as if Susan Boyle has a lot on her plate.
As she's undertaking one great adventure — her first live tour — singer Boyle is contemplating another: love.
"I want to find a man but it’s hard with all the travelling I do," she told the Scottish Sun. "I really want to start going on dates and I’ve asked my friends to set me up with a good man — if they can find one. I’d like to settle down one day."
Could it be an on-screen kiss that set her mind on this path? Boyle appears in a film due out this year, "The Christmas Candle," in which she was tasked with smooching her costar, James Cosmo. The task turned out to be a treat.
"I have my very first 'husband' — which is very exciting. It’s been a long wait," the 52-year-old told the Sun. "I had to kiss him, too, as we had a kissing scene. It was my first on-screen kiss. It was lovely. I didn’t know about the kissing scene when I signed up, but I wasn’t complaining."
Boyle's eight-date tour, which starts Tuesday, will first take her around Britain, with a chance of going worldwide.
"I’m very excited, it’s long overdue," she said. "I’ve been on at my manager for some time to let me go live. He kept telling me, 'You’re not ready yet,' but this time he feels I am."
Boyle — also called SuBo, which she likes but doesn't love because she says it makes her sound "like a Brazilian footballer" — has cracked under pressure before, landing in rehab for a few days because of demands around the final days of "Britain's Got Talent," which made her an instant global star.
Now she's got another chance to take it global, and with a little luck, maybe meet the love of her live.

Susan Boyle Talks Wanting to Find a Man and Her "Lovely" First Onscreen Kiss

It's been another year of firsts for Susan Boyle.
The soprano who took the world by storm in 2009 via Britain's Got Talent—and noted cheerfully during her first audition that she had "never been kissed"—is finally getting some action these days.
And she's apparently raring for more!
"I have my very first husband—which is very exciting," the 52-year-old Boyle is quoted as saying in the U.K. tabloid The Sun, referring to her role as a married woman in the British period film The Christmas Candle. "It's been a long wait."
"I had to kiss him, too, as we had a kissing scene," she said. "It was my first on-screen kiss. It was lovely. I didn't know about the kissing scene when I signed up, but I wasn't complaining.
"I won't take this any further in case I embarrass him," Boyle added, him being costar James Cosmo, who plays her hubby.

And Boyle, who's embarking on her first-ever live tour this summer, also reportedly said that she's ready to take her love life to the next level off-screen as well.
"I want to find a man but it's hard with all the traveling I do," she said, per The Sun. "I really want to start going on dates and I've asked my friends to set me up with a good man—if they can find one. I'd like to settle down one day."
Boyle could settle comfortably, too: Though she ultimately finished in second place on Britain's Got Talent, she has sold more than 19 million albums and her net worth has been reported to be as much as $30 million.
So, it also sounds like the perfect time to be in better-than-ever shape!
Boyle explained her recent slimdown: "I eat a lot of fruit and cut out the sweets. I've had to for dietary reasons. I don't want a bum like a garage. It's for my own health. I have a very sweet tooth, I love chocolate."
May she soon be substituting chocolate with far sweeter things.

Susan Boyle is gearing up for one of the most hotly anticipated performances of her career –the opening night of her first solo tour – and while the nerves may be kicking in, she can rest assured she will have the support of her loyal fanbase behind her, as they have travelled from across the globe to watch Susan take to the stage in Inverness.

Getting set to head to the Eden Court Theatre in Inverness tomorrow night (July 2) are Susan Boyle fans from as far afield as Australia, Canada, America and Holland, not to mention those who are heading north from across the UK.
Many fans keep in touch through Susan forums and can’t wait to meet each other and finally watch their idol take to the stage for her debut solo tour.
Pam Cleggett from Australia told STV: “We are all looking forward with great anticipation of a wonderful evening in Inverness as well as Susan's other concerts in Scotland.”
Linda Caillet from Southern California met some of her fellow Susan fans when the Scots star performed in Tokyo.
She is excited to be catching up with them again and explained: “There will be three of us in Inverness on July 2, 2013, who met for the first time to attend an event in Tokyo. We three happen to be from California on the west coast, South Carolina on the east coast, and Yorkshire, England, and we are now the best of friends, travelling together still to hear Susan as often as we are able.”
Clearly passionate about Susan’s talents, she added: “Life is so enriched since Susan's courage, sparkle and spunk captivated us as she rocked the globe back in 2009 with the magnificence of those first opening notes of I Dreamed a Dream.
“What blessings she continues to radiate for renewed hope in life itself through her grounded goodness.”
STV showbiz reporter Laura Boyd caught up with Susan last month, while she was rehearsing for the concert in Glasgow.
As well as giving us a sneak peek of what we can expect from the show (you can watch this in the video player above), Susan also revealed that she is really looking forward to going on the road with her tour and showing off a wide variety of music that is close to her heart.
She said: “I’ve been looking forward to it for quite a few months now. It’s a team effort and it’s a very exciting project.
“It will be a wee chance to let the general public know what I’m capable of.”
Stay tuned to stv.tv/entertainment on Wednesday for our review of the show and some exclusive video footage from the big night. Good luck Susan!

Scots singing sensation Susan Boyle kicks off her very first live tour in Inverness tonight knowing tickets for her show are expected to sell-out throughout the country.
• Tickets for Susan Boyle’s first live tour expected to sell out within hours as 98 per cent already snapped up
• Seven-night run will see singer appear in the Highlands, Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh
The 52-year-old is appearing in the Highlands, Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh on a seven-night run.
Organisers confirmed over 98 per cent of tickets had already been sold in advance of the shows, with just a handful of seats still available in Glasgow and Edinburgh – and these were expected to be snapped up within hours.
A spokeswoman for the singer, who shot to fame four years ago on Britain’s Got Talent, said: “She is really looking forward to her first solo live tour.
“She is really excited. She travelled to Inverness on Sunday and has been doing dress rehearsals.
“Susan is really enjoying the process building up to the shows.”
She added: “There are a handful of tickets left for Edinburgh and Glasgow, only about 20 in each city, but all other venues are sold out.
“And we expect these bigger venues will be the same very soon.
“Audiences can expect something from her past four albums, and something different. There will be a complete range of music, fro Tina Turner to Adele.
“This tour is her way of thanking the Scottish public for their support since Britain’s Got Talent. They have been unbelievable.”
Boyle has sold 19 million albums and topped the charts in more than 30 countries over the last four years.
However her live performances in her home country have been restricted to fleeting appearances on shows like Britain’s Got Talent and I Dreamed A Dream, the stage show inspired by her life story, starring Elaine C Smith.
Brought up in Blackburn, West Lothian, where she still lives, Boyle achieved international fame with her television debut in 2009 when she sang I Dreamed A Dream - from the musical Les Miserables - on Britain’s Got Talent. One YouTube clip of the performance has more than 21.5 million hits.
The seven Scottish shows will feature some of her best-known cover versions, including “I Dreamed A Dream”, “Wild Horses” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.
When the tour was announced, Boyle said: “I’m really looking forward to getting on stage and singing with my own band for an entire show.
“This is the year that I feel that I would be able to give an audience what they want. I’ve always wanted to do my own show and now I feel confident enough to give it a go.
“If this works well, then the world is my oyster and 2014 will be a global tour.
“I’ve chosen my favourite songs from past albums and also new songs that not only have I wanted to perform for years but resonate with me and I hope my fans will love.
“I wanted to begin in Scotland to say thank you for all the support I have been shown over the past few years. It feels right to begin another new experience in my home country.”
Joining her on tour is special guest Lance Ellington, known to many through his regular appearances on Strictly Come Dancing. As one of the UK’s busiest session singers Lance has worked with the likes of Sting, George Michael, Robbie Williams, Tina Turner and now Susan Boyle.
