SUSAN Boyle received an honorary doctorate yesterday for her contribution to the creative industries.
The singer was honoured by Edinburgh’s Queen Margaret University, where she once studied for a certificate in caring.
 
The degree was presented by the university’s founding University honour for ‘Dr SuBo’ Susan Boyle yesterday chancellor Sir Tom Farmer of Kwik-Fit.
 
Susan, brought up in Blackburn, West Lothian, where she still lives, won international fame singing in 2009 on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent.
She has since sold about 18 million albums and has 120 platinum and gold albums across 38 countries.
Single Susan, 51, has performed for the Pope and the Queen
