I have to say that I believe this to be my all-time favourite Christmas album, simply because that powerful, crystal-clear, and frankly awesome voice that this astonishing singer possesses is featured so perfectly. A voice as incomparable and indescribable as hers could only have led to a Christmas album that as good as I had expected and more.
Susan Boyle and her distinctive, crystal clear voice, is at her best on this album, which features a beautiful selection of 12 songs, to each of which this stunning songstress gives a unique rendering, making it her own. Not the least of these - in a technological stroke of genius duet with Elvis Presley! - is the fabulous rendition of
O Come All Ye Faithful, and her performance of The Lord's Prayer is beyond exquisite for diction and clarity.

She excels with the classic tunes such as Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and I'll Be Home for Christmas, which, like The Christmas Song help push the button for nostalgic memories of years gone by. I was transported by the inclusion of the stunning duet with Johnny Mathis performing When a Child is Born, and it was great to see a song from her debut movie - The Christmas Candle, in which she plays the role of Eleanor Hopewell - entitled Miracle Hymn, which was a very moving song on which to finish the album off.
I feel that these twelve songs are guaranteed to touch and warm your heart, and that this fifth release by the Scottish singer is an instant classic album that deserves recognition and high praise. Little Drummer Boy was a treat on the ear, and my all-time favourite hymn Hark! The Herald Angels Sing is performed with such a beautiful accompaniment that it is quite memorable and moving. I would class this as a must-have album for any fan of Susan Boyle, and I know for certain that I personally will be enjoying listening to it for many years to come, so I recommend it in the highest terms.
