Susan Boyle ditches singing after landing a job as a lighthouse keeper
Susan Boyle has landed a job as a lighthouse keeper just weeks after seeking a job in a Ladbrokes bookies.
The Britain’s Got Talent runner-up will be ensuring boats don’t crash into cliffs in her new role which is a far cry from singing her way around the globe.
Unfortunately this isn’t in her real life though – it’s all part of a new role Boyle, 52, has signed up to play in a new TV drama.
She will play a singing lighthouse keeper in the TV series, provisionally titled Diva, and last month filmed a pilot episode in Edinburgh.
It is about a girl from the Channel Islands who dreams of becoming a star and while it hasn’t been commissioned yet, both ITV and US network ABC have shown an interest.
A source told the Sun: ‘Susan is set to play this sort of crazy lighthouse lady. It’s a unique role. There has been a lot of interest in it.
‘Some of the big broadcasters are very keen.’
Susan has familiar faces working with her as Diva is being directed by John Stephenson, who also directed The Christmas Candle which was Subo’s first film.
Confirming the news, Susan’s agent added: ‘She is very excited.’
