SUSAN BOYLE - Interview Radio Nottingham

In case you are missing Susan's voice, here is a very nice interview for review.

Susan's article in People Magazine

Look what I found at the doctor's office. It surely made me feel better. Also talked to a piano player who was a volunteer at the hospital, playing for people in the area.  Loved the music. When he played "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", he got a thumbs up from me and I went over and talked to him.  He knew about Susan, so we had a very nice chat about her and old time music stars.  It certainly made my day.  The piano player and the nice write up in People Magazine put a smile on my face. So when I saw the doctor, he said nothing was wrong - whoo hooo!!!! Feeling good!

SuBo uses her £300k house as a wardrobe

BY JOHN PAUL BRESLIN27 APRIL 2014 5.44PM.
Singing star Susan Boyle has revealed she uses her £300,000 second home as an “overflow wardrobe”.
SuBo described the house as the biggest treat she’s ever given herself but soon moved back into the former council house where she had lived with her mum.
Now it appears a newfound love of fashion has left her with a storage issue and she is using the detached villa in Blackburn to house her collection of clothes.
The once-dowdy singer, who is worth an estimated £11 million, admitted to being “frightened” to spend when she hit the big time.
However, she’s since talked of spending £1,000 on clothes in shopping sprees at M&S and is regularly spotted in designer brands. She’s also spoken of having new wardrobes fitted to house her collection of fabulous garments.
In an interview published on a fan website, the star said: “I bought my family home and then the ‘posh’ house. But then I realised I didn’t want to be away from the house I grew up in so I use it as an office, rehearsal space and overflow wardrobe.”
She bought her family home, also in Blackburn, from West Lothian Council for £65,000 in 2009 and is said to have recently acquired the former council house next door for expansion.
The fashion-conscious star is also a bit of a hoarder when it comes to her precious threads. Last year she spent £250 buying her clothes back from a charity shop after deciding she wanted to keep garments that had been donated by her assistant.
However, Subo says she remains a careful spender: “In terms of treats, I’m not one to spend money. Remember for 47 years I lived struggling to make ends meet.
“For a cheap pair of shoes I’d have to save for weeks. When you’ve lived like that it’s a difficult transition to suddenly spend, spend, spend.
“I never want to be in a position where I’m fretting on how I’m going to pay the bills. I spent time sitting in the cold and dark and never want to do that again.”
But while the 53-year-old claims she is reluctant to spoil herself, she enjoys splashing the cash on others.
She said: “I like to treat friends with surprise trips to spas or a favourite bottle of perfume.
“I love to see the happiness in their faces. I prefer spoiling others than myself.”
SuBo, who once said she’d “never been kissed”, also made a cryptic comment about “unrequited love” when discussing her music, suggesting she might have had a soft spot for a mystery man.
The Scots star, who has just finished a sell-out UK tour, said she’s done more in the past five years than in the first 47 of her life.
SuBo, who is due to star as a lighthouse keeper in an upcoming TV drama, also hinted she’d like to act, saying she’d like to do “more TV/movie work” in future.

BGT star Susan Boyle graces Northampton's Royal and Derngate stage - By Northampton Herald & Post

REVIEW: Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle graces Northampton's Royal and Derngate stage

Written byNICHOLAS BIEBER

Susan Boyle’s shot to fame is truly inspirational. It’s almost five years since her sensational Britain’s Got Talent debut, a moment which lives in the memory of many.
In just a matter a minutes, a shy, timid Scottish woman opened the eyes of an entire nation with her touching rendition of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from Les Miserables.
Now, Susan is living that dream.Last week, she came to Northampton’s Royal and Derngate theatre for the last show of her first solo tour.
The show, shaped around SuBo’s voice, song choices, humour and stage presence, began with a reminder of the famous first Britain’s Got Talent conversation between Susan and Simon Cowell. We didn’t get the song that started if all off for her – at least not then. Instead, she started with the fitting song ‘Out Here On My Own’ from FAME.
Each and every perfected note was felt right across the room as goosebumps already went into overload.
Throughout the night, SuBo sung a handpicked list of standout numbers from her albums such as ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’, ‘Winner Takes It All’, ‘You Raise Me Up’, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ and ‘Wild Horses’.
Almost every song received a standing ovation from a audience of what seemed like largely committed SuBo fans.
It was those fans that will know, however, that it hasn’t been all happiness and joy for Susan throughout her journey.
As outlined in an ITV documentary last year, in 2012 the Scottish singer was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, which left her with crippling anxiety and a dread of performing live, which has prevented her from taking to the stage.
But this year, in her first solo tour which has seen her travel to Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and London, that has all changed.
After two hours when show was coming to an end, it was finally time for her signature tune ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ - the song which started it all.
And to no surprise, it sounded as stirring as ever and summed up her truly inspirational journey. This show was the last of Susan’s tour this year, but it certainly won’t be her last. She might have come second in the 2009 final of Britain’s Got Talent, but as we all know now, the winner doesn’t always take it all.

NOW working on her sixth album and having wowed the world during her Britain's Got Talent audition back in 2009 it is hard to believe that this is Susan Boyle's first UK Tour.
It may have been seven years since her show stealing performance on prime time TV, but the crowds that queued outside The Pavilion proved her popularity is far from waning.
The eager audience were warmed up by the smooth vocal talents of Lance Ellington before Susan's first audition was played as her silhouette appeared on stage and she was greeted by an enthusiastic audience already on their feet for her as she opened the show with the beautiful Out Here On My Own and followed with her rendition of Over the Rainbow.
Unfortunately at times the volume of the band drowned out Susan's extraordinary voice. However, the evening was still incredible with many songs moving me to tears, including emotionally fuelled performances of Memories and the hauntingly heart-wrenching You Raise Me Up.
The most poignant performance of the evening was that of Liverpool FC anthem You'll Never Walk Alone; whether intentional or not, marking the 25th Anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy.
No Susan Boyle show would be complete without her signature I Dreamed a Dream and she brought the house down with her most famous song.
