SUSAN Boyle is considering buying an apartment in New York and moving permanently to America.
The fact that she gets such a great welcome from fans every time she goes to the states has made her want to emigrate.
SuBo, who will undertake her first tour of the US later this year has lived virtually all her life in her family’s former council house in Blackburn, West Lothian.
Earlier this year, it emerged the 53 year-old was buying the property next door to her modest ex-council house to create a dream home.
She lived for a time in a £300,000 five-bedroom detached villa but failed to settle and move back.
But in an interview on US television show Access Hollywood, Susan said the warm reception she gets in America had led her to “toy” with the idea of a move.
She said: “I love America, I love the people and the reception from the fans is really good.
“There’s a possibility I will move here, I’m toying with the idea at the moment.
“I would probably move to New York.
“It’s a little bit like London and Glasgow.”
Susan also told how she now can’t bear to watch her famous Britain’s Got Talent audition from 2009 which catapulted her to stardom.
The songstress said she is embarrassed by the way she looked during the clip of her singing I Dreamed A Dream, which has been viewed more than 150 million times on YouTube.
She said: “If I could go back to them I would ditch that frock.I haven’t seen the clip now for a couple of years but I understand it’s still going. When I saw it I thought ‘Oh my god, what is she wearing? Look at the mess of her hair.
“I had had so many unsuccessful auditions before and I just went on to have a good laugh.
“My circumstances at the time at home were very poor and I wanted to change things. I was living at home with my cat and wondering what to do next with my life.”
As well as undertaking an American tour, Susan will release her sixth studio album in October.
She revealed that the album will feature covers of songs by supergroups Pink Floyd and U2.
Susan added: “People don’t expect me to cover those artists so there’s a wee element of surprise in the album.”

Susan Boyle's Interview at the "Praise The Lord" Visit. Transcribed by Muey

Below is the transcript of the "Praise The Lord" (June 22, 2014) interview, typed by Muey, a SBFII fan.  She posted: "In case anyone is interested in a transcript of the interview, I typed one up for myself by ear. It may not be flawless, but I think it's pretty close. I can share it here, if you like, or email it to anyone who might like to have it. Please just let me know."  Thank you for sharing with the viewers of the blog.

As typed:

Part 1:

Matt: You seem like a little bit of an angel. You know that, don't you? Have you been told that you sing like a little bit of an angel?

Susan: I don't know what kind of an angel. I've been told I sing like an angel, yeah.

Matt: Do you act like an angel or . . . ?

Susan makes a humorous gesture, depicting devils' horns emerging from her head. Hosts and audience laugh.
. . . .

Matt: Give us a word picture. I think we have a fairly decent word picture of what your life is now. You travel, you do television performances, you've sung for the Queen, you've done all this. So, we could stay up with you now. We get who Susan Boyle is now. Take us back a few years into a small little village and kind of give us a word picture of what Susan Boyle was like before you were introduced to the global stage.

Susan: Well, I would say that Susan Boyle was an entirely different person then because circumstances changed her life completely. I had just lost my mother. So, I was beginning to struggle a bit in life, you know? That's when I realized that God was very important.

Laurie: And you grew up in a small village in Scotland, yes?

Susan: I grew up in Blackburn.

Laurie: Okay. What even took you to Britain's Got Talent? What motivated you?

Matt: Yeah; the idea that you made a very bold step. Talk us through how you made that decision to go do that.

Susan: Well I tried out at 12 auditions before, without success. And I just thought "well, I'll go to this one & we'll see what we could do and have a bit of a laugh." So, I went with that in mind. I didn't realize that the result would end up the way it has been. I really didn't premeditate that at all, you know? I had a lot of fun with it and you see the result.

Matt: Did you have any preconceived idea that this might be the one? Was that your thought at all or was this just another one of the 12? Nothing's gonna change. Nothing's gonna be different. Or did you have kind of a thought that maybe this is something that's going to be different?

Susan: Well, before the audition I went to this time, I was in an organization called The Legion of Mary. And I prayed before I went. So, I had an idea there would be something. But I didn't quite know what.

Matt: Okay. So, in prayer, were you being prayed for or were you just praying about it, yourself?

Susan: I think it was being led by another source; maybe my mother.

Matt: Yeah. You think so, really?

Susan: (gently) just told you (not sure if this is correct; I had trouble understanding it)

Matt: Well, I just lost my daddy last November. And I think he's here. I think he's glad 'cause he knew your music. And he knew you sang like an angel. But he just didn't get to be in the studio with us. But I think that he founded this network so that amazing gifts of God can be on display to the world. You realize tonight that this broadcast is going by way of many many satellites around the world. And people in Indonesia are watching tonight. (asks audience to raise their hands to demonstrate the diversity of those in attendance just in the studio alone) . . . Okay, Susan Boyle, everyone wants
to hear your journey of faith . . .

Susan: It is a journey. But it is something that is very important in my life. It is the backbone of my life; something you can't really do without. You get so many people who say "well, I don't want to know God. I don't want to know Him at all." And they're missing something really, because without God, you can do nothing.

Part 2

Laurie: I hear you like Karaoke.

Susan: Karaoke?

Laurie: Yeah

Susan: I'll drink anything (audience laughs)

Matt: You actually like Karaoke?

Susan: It's good fun. You get a good laugh. (They banter a bit and she offers to do a small wiggle) Anyway, come on (jokingly puts on a poker face). This is serious.

Matt: You actually enjoy Karaoke, don't you?

Susan: Well, everybody likes to sing. Everybody likes to occasionally make a fool of themselves, stuff like that. Don't be afraid to do that, you know? It's part of the fun!

Laurie: How did you know when you said "okay, I have got a gift" and you knew it was real? Did that ever hit you before you went on the talent searches? I mean how . . . was it your mom that spoke into your life, that "baby, you've got a voice?"

Susan: Well, it was a lot of the teachers at school, you know? And there was a lot of contemporaries that said I had a reasonable voice. And I'm surprised anybody listened, let's be honest.

Laurie: Because I mean when you sang for that first program, the emotion of it was just unbelievable. That's how music moves; I mean that's why music belongs to God. Your story of just basically coming up from nothing, yes?

Susan: Mmm. It was kind of a dream in a way. As the song says, it was a dream.

Laurie: Isn't that amazing? And then how God takes that is such a testimony of what God can do in someone's life. Because even in the Book of Esther, you know, she's disenfranchised, she's orphaned . . .

Matt: She was a minority

Laurie: And God takes her out of nothing and changes the world, you know? I think you've changed the face of music. And one cool thing is that she's starting her American tour, coming up in July

Andrew: October

Laurie: And also, she has a new inspirational album coming out at that same time that they have not yet named. So, you've gotta come up with a good name for that. (She then turns to Andrew Panton and asks him what it has been like to work with Susan)

Andrew goes on to describe how Susan told him when they first met 2-3 years ago that what she really wanted to do was do her own show. He talks about how she went from singing just 2 songs onstage to singing her own concert of 24 songs.
. . . .
Part 3

Matt: If we took every one of these people in this audience, and I bet you everyone watching around the world, And if we could sit them down and interview them, everyone has a dream inside of them. And you were sitting in a small village in Blackburn in Scotland and you had a dream in your heart. Did you practice that dream? Is there something . . . if someone else wants to . .

Susan: There was a driving force behind it.

Matt: All right, tell the people what to do to help get that dream fulfilled.

Susan: You have to keep trying and keep believing because if you don't do that, you don't have any sort of way of going on.

Matt: Did you believe all the time or just part of the time?

Susan: Well, to be honest, it was part of the time because you get wee knockbacks. People say no to you. But that sort of strengthens . . . it makes it more difficult at that time, but it makes it more worthwhile when the changes happen like they did with me.

Matt: So, the times you would sing and someone would say no . . . your talent show didn't work, nobody pushed you to the end, you didn't win it . . . how long did it hurt before it made you better?

Susan: I would say over a period of time, maybe 12 years, you know? But I kept at it. I went to acting school. And then I went to singing lessons and things like that. And I just kept on trying.

Matt: Did you find it hard to stay self-motivated? There are some people who are very self-motivated and they get good grades and they go on to pass their exams and do well in life and become a trained professional or whatever. They're very self-started. Were you a self-starter? Did you believe in yourself or did you need other people to . . .

Susan: I needed other people to keep me going because I had so many people putting me down because of other things.

Matt: Like what?

Susan: I can be open here. I've got a disability but I see that as an ability. I don't actually see that as something that holds me back.

Matt: You have something very special inside of you; not only this singing thing, but you have an optimistic attitude. Do you think that is part of the reason you're sitting here tonight and maybe not somebody else? . . . What is your advice to people? . . . How can you help us help our audience?

Susan: You've got to use the talents that God gave you to the best of your advantage. So, you stay positive. You keep at it and hope that one day God will give you a chance.

Matt: If you would have quit at audition #11, would you have not seen your dreams fulfilled; having your own show, your tour, your albums that have been sold, your music going around the world . . . You had to audition #12 or 13 . . .

Susan: Well, my back was up against the wall then because of my personal circumstances.

Matt: What were those circumstances?

Susan: I had just lost my mom. And there were other circumstances that weren't very good. I didn't have very much money and stuff like that. So, I said to myself, "I've got to do something. And what did God give me? He gave me a voice, so I've got to use it." So, I just went along and did the audition.

(Laurie goes on to ask Susan about making the film, The Christmas Candle. She mentions that Susan had quite a screen kiss. Susan looks at Adnrew Panton and quietly says, "really?", then goes along with it enough to joke that it was just a kiss on the cheek because it was a family show. But there was no kiss of any kind in the final cut)

Matt: Do you believe that you are gifted? Is your ability to sing a gift from God?

Susan: Without a doubt because nothing you have is really yours alone. He gives you it. It's up to you to discover what it is and sort of nurture it.

Matt: A number of years alone in Blackburn, Scotland, did you ever think you would be sitting with millions of people watching you and wanting to hear your story. Did it ever cross your mind?

Susan: It never crossed my mind at that time, no.

Laurie: What do you see for your future? Where do you see going from here?

Susan: It all depends on what God allows. I mean I don't really have any say in that. He does.

Laurie: Do you still live where you lived?

Susan: I still live at the Council House. I don't have my cat anymore. My cat's down in London being looked after.

Laurie and Susan start to chat about cats.

Matt: You know that your story is inspirational. You have to understand that.

Susan: It can be seen as inspirational to a lot of people who would maybe like to do the same, but maybe lack confidence in some way or can be seen as underdogs in some way, like I was. I was seen as a bit of an underdog, as well. You know? And you just have to have that kind of determination to get over that. It's hard. It's not easy.

Matt: How hard? Tell me about the hard part.

Susan: Well, when people don't understand you as a person, they tend to have a bit of a snicker at you, you know; have a bit of a laugh. And I was treated rather cruelly by other people. I don't feel sorry for myself now because I'm a bit more confident. But then, it really hurt; the name-calling, stuff like that and horrible things, you know? It does a lot of emotional damage to you sometimes. But you get over over this thing because you have to. You have to turn the corner sometime. And God gives you the strength to do that. You have to.

Matt: When you would pray, were you asking God for help to go sing or were you asking God for help to be able to endure the pain of ugly people's voices to you?

Susan: Well God has a good communication system. It's like a telephone line to Heaven, if you like. So, He knows how you feel. But He sort of sends a way ofovercoming that. So, that's probably my way of overcoming it. I don't know; it's inexplicable.

Matt: Your last word to the audience. Now, remember there's a lot of Blackburn, Scotland out there. There's little places and people that never think they'll be significant; people that never think their dream will be fulfilled. So, look at the television audience and give them something to believe in right from the mouth of Susan Boyle.

Susan: Well, everything is possible if you pray hard enough for it. It's not, you know, a question of just wishing. You've just got to really have that sort of inner belief behind you. Because if that's not there, you just don't have anything.

Matt: Believe in God; He'll get you through

Susan: If it's good for you, He'll do it.

And that's when Matt became pretty effusive in his praise of Susan, so I thought this was a good place to stop. Gotta go to work now. Have a good day, all!
