Hello,
Well, it’’s been a busy few weeks and I apologise for not writing an update sooner, but the saying time flies when you’re having fun is rather apt in my life at the moment!
I’‘m still doing the occasional guest appearance in the musical, which has been great. I still can’‘t believe that people have travelled from around the world to see the musical and some have come back for more shows which is wonderful. This week it is in Inverness.
The Jubilee weekend was a real triumph, I enjoyed myself immensely with friends. I certainly felt extremely patriotic over the weekend and the highlights for me were the Flotilla on the Sunday and watching the fly past on the Tuesday. I was really pleased that I got the chance to be a part of the celebrations when I performed at the Windsor pageant and meeting the Queen was a truly humbling experience.
Last week I began recording my new album with a new producer. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed going back to the studio, although I was a little nervous. However, within 5 minutes I was feeling right at home. I’‘m not going to give any hints at the moment as I want this album to be more of a surprise, but I’‘m having a great time and I’‘m working with another fabulous guy so I’‘m hoping you will all love this new album.
This past weekend was a busy one. On Saturday we had the annual Blackburn Gala day, which was great fun and I was happy to be part of the day, even when the flower arch clonked me on the head. It’’s a wonderful local tradition where your friends and family get together to celebrate the town. I made a bit of an effort this year and decorated my house with flags galore. It’‘s a great day out and makes me proud to be a part of the Blackburn community. They are my roots and incredibly important to me.
Yesterday, Sunday, I went to the Elton John concert in Falkirk, Scotland and I had an absolutely brilliant time. I almost fell off my chair when he announced that I was in the audience, I was surprised he even knew who I was.
His concert was fabulous, he really knows how to entertain the crowd. He has an infectious stage presence and had us all up and dancing. The highlight, being invited backstage and meeting the man himself! Wow! That was great. It’’s rare I’‘m speechless but on this occasion I was- the man is a musical genius and I was thrilled that I got to say hello backstage. I’’ve ticked another dream off my list!
I hope all my fans and friends are well and I will update you all again soon.
