BWW World Premiere EXCLUSIVE: Michael Crawford and Susan Boyle Duet on 'The Music of the Night'!
Wednesday, October 31, 2012; 02:10 PM - by BWW Special Coverage
A few weeks ago, we premiered Donny Osmond and Susan Boyle singing 'This is the Moment' and we're back to bring you another exclusive first listen to a second highly-anticipated duet from her upcoming album - 'The Music of the Night!' Featuring original Phantom star Michael Crawford himself alongside Boyle, it's a must-listen!
“The Music of the Night” is from Boyle’s new album, “Standing Ovation,” which will be released November 13 (click here to pre-order). Boyle has reached international stardom and sold over 18 million albums in the just three years. “Standing Ovation” showcases duets with both Michael Crawford and her lifelong idol, Donny Osmond and is filled with songs from her favorite shows.
Most recently seen on the West End stage in The Wizard of Oz, and long overdue for a Broadway return, Michael Crawford had established himself as one of London's finest leading men long before he opened as "the Phantom" in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera beginning one of the most widely acclaimed and memorable performances in theatre history. Few stars are as widely connected to a single role as Crawford is to "the Phantom." His Los Angeles and Broadway performances earned an astonishing catalogue of critical recognition including the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, and the Los Angeles Dramalogue Award and Drama Critics Award.
Since leaving "Phantom" after nearly four years in the role in London, New York and Los Angeles; Crawford has become a multi-platinum recording artist and one of the worlds's most sought after concert and stage performers, playing to sold-out venues around the globe. In addition to his recent concert work, stage credits in London and on Broadway include Billy, Flowers for Algernon, Black Comedy, Dance of the Vampires and Barnum.

Personal Message from Susan
from Susan Boyle
Well to say I have had the time of my life would be an understatement. I can’t quite believe how much was accomplished in such a short space of time.
As you may have heard getting to LA on Sunday had it’s problems thanks to a cancelled flight in Scotland which meant we missed the plane to LA. So Monday we boarded the plane to LA and sat back for a relaxing 11 hour flight. Landed in LA and found that my case had gone missing. Deja Vu of last November. Luckily I had two cases and the dresses I needed were packed in the second case.
I met my wonderful fans at the airport and it was great to see familiar faces, smiling and happy. They spoilt me as usual and gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and See’s Candy.
Tuesday morning was an early start, heading to the Dancing With The Stars studio for rehearsals. They went without a hitch and it was wonderful to see Donny again. He is so professional and supportive. The plan was for me to walk on to the stage, but I chose a pair of heels that made that impossible. I was so nervous that I’d topple over and make a spectacle of myself!
The performance went well in the afternoon and I was nervous, but who wouldn’t be. I was not only singing with my childhood idol but a legend who has been in the business for 50 years. I’m an amateur in comparison to him! I was incredibly shy and nervous as I didn’t want to mess up the performance and let Donny down.
We did a press call after the show which was an experience. I had not done one of those before, but it was fun to talk to the different media although I felt like I was repeating myself as we worked our way down the line.
Wednesday morning it was off early to the airport for our flight to Vegas. We arrived safe and sound, all bags with us, and made our way down the Las Vegas strip to the Flamingo hotel for rehearsals with Donny for his show and meet his sister Marie.
The show itself was great, watching them perform was amazing. They have such a great energy and so enthusiastic, I can understand why their show has just been voted the best show in Las Vegas. It was brilliant. Performing in Vegas was an honour and something I never for a second imagined I would do. In fact I’m still having to pinch myself now that it all really happened. I sung the duet with Donny and then Who I Was Born To Be on my own. Again, I was nervous as it’s such an accomplishment to be on a Vegas stage, I almost felt like I didn’t deserve to be there. Then before I knew it, my two songs were over- it went by in a flash. I really did have the best time ever up on that stage with Donny. Marie and Donny made me feel so welcome.
After the show, we did another lot of interviews and I was also able to give Donny the “Susan quilt” which the wonderful Carol Rand made. He loved it and was thrilled to receive such a gift. That was a highlight of the trip for me.
Thursday morning we made our way back to the Flamingo for an interview with Ross King who had flown to Vegas to interview us for Daybreak. Ross is a great man and we had a real giggle filming that interview. After that it was back to the theatre which was our base for the day as I had a shoot with Hello Magazine. That was a blast- the photographer was wonderful, as was my stylist who found the most stunning dresses (which I ended up buying as they were so fantastic!)
After finishing a successful shoot- it was back to the airport to fly back to LA. Except the plane was delayed- so we found a spa and sat and got pampered for a couple of hours waiting for the plane to arrive. That was one way to kill time.
Friday morning I had a lie in, it was much needed after everything we had accomplished during the week, then I sat down with Weekend Magazine for another interview and photo shoot. By the time we got over to the beach the weather had turned and you would have thought we were back in Scotland. It was so cold and overcast!
After a few quick pictures it was back to the hotel, were we spotted Ashton Kutcher checking in, then up to the roof terrace for a lovely lunch with my friend Lorraine, Nic and Michelle where we giggled as we recounted the tales from the week and had a look through photographs that had been taken. It was so cold they ended up with dressing gowns over them and I had a blanket round my shoulders but we persevered and had a delightful time.
The flight home was uneventful, we all slept soundly and before I knew it I was back home in Scotland. The past week was so busy it flashed by and I still can’t quite believe that I performed in LA and Las Vegas with my childhood hero Donny Osmond. It was a dream come true and something I shall never forget. I am incredibly lucky and fortunate.
I’m looking forward to the next few weeks- I have a few more surprises for you all, so be sure to keep checking for updates from myself and my team and I also look forward to answering your Twitter questions tonight.
Thank you all for your messages of support and to those of you who came to Dancing With The Stars and Las Vegas, I always keep a look out for the red scarves!

He's just been voted the most scary UK celebrity, but Susan Boyle says she misses Simon Cowell on the X Factor.
The judge and music mogul, who has been made into a pumpkin by supermarket ASDA, has topped a poll to find out which celebrity Brits would be most terrified to meet.
But despite his spooky new accolade,Susan believes that his show has lost its sparkle since the godfather of X Factor left its judging reins in the hands of Gary Barlow.
The star said: "Simon will be annoyed I'm saying this, and I'll probably be punished, but there's no show really without Simon as the top judge."
She addded: "There's no show without the main man." It seems that the singer may be right. Since the judging panel changed, the X Factor has annually decreased in viewer ratings, dropping to its worst figures this year since 2007.
BBC One prime time rival Strictly Come Dancing has ranked at the top of the table, averaging a million more viewers than the rigorous singing competition.

Susan Boyle - The Things They Say: 3348419
29 October 2012
"I wasn't nervous. My only problem was trying not to trip on the polished stage in my six-inch heels. I've never worn a pair that high and could hardly walk. Donny was helpful - he put his arm around me and held my hand. But I was too shy to say anything." Scottish singer Susan Boyle was a little unsteady on her feet when she performed with her idol Donny Osmond in Las Vegas earlier this month (Oct12).

Meeting with Susan Boyle
A couple of weeks ago I was in Scotland at football. The job's behalf.Helsingborg IF against Celtic in Glasgow. The match did not start until 20:45. Then it's "hurry in the kitchen" The first edition of our newspaper will normally be edited and ready for printing at 22.30, the game is almost finished playing then. This kind of evening we have a little more time on us.The last edition is HD we have to after midnight on us. Tried to send directly from the camera to the web, failed toligen to the stadium was packed. The more smartphons there in the same place the harder it is to get out in the air with their photos. Also sent televisions this match, FURTHER less space in our wireless world. The halftime break I rushed off to bring home the first pictures from the match via the computer. Met a lady almost ran into her. Close that she got the lens, larger model of the skull. Got home 5-6 pictures in the pause, the rest after the game. Packed up computer and all equipment. Outside Celtic Park was still Scottish fans who were waiting for their idols in the team. Heard a great joy when the little woman came out. Lots of people gathered around her and wanted autographs and be photographed with her. So even the Swedish TV profiles Ola Wenström and Ola Andersson. The one photographed with cell phone and the other posse did with Susan Boyle. Susan had sung the halftime break. Only now I saw who she was, the singer who was discovered on TV program Britain's Got Talent. Have not you seen the youtube clip from her first appearance. SUSAN Boyle showed that when you love a dress you just can't wear it enough as she recycled her gown for a red carpet event last night.
Unlike many celebrities who would die before being seen in the same dress twice, SuBo showed that you can wear a dress twice and still look fabulous.
The 51-year-old singer wore a sheer lace dress with fluffy shawl to the Pride of Britain Awards last night.

Susan Boyle Has 'Blossomed' With Fame
Singing sensation Susan Boyle thinks her international fame has made her a more well rounded and confident person.
Susan Boyle feels she has "blossomed".
The 'I Dreamed A Dream' singer - who shot to worldwide fame when she auditioned for UK TV show 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2009 - admits she initially found it difficult when she first found success but has now calmed down and is in a much better place.
"But now it fits firmly on my shoulders and I'm more relaxed. I understand why I have to do certain things and take them in my stride. I've calmed down and feel more confident. I've blossomed. I love travelling, meeting people, wearing nice clothes, the whole package."
Despite her fame, Susan likes to be as grounded as possible and likes to help out people less fortunate than her.
She added to Hello! magazine: "I do normal stuff at home. I watch TV, listen to music, and I'm learning to play piano. I've a baby grand down at the posh house, but I'm only at grade one stage so let's not carried away.
