SUSAN BOYLE has blasted The X Factor – saying it is “no show” without Simon Cowell.
The Scot says the ITV talent show, which is being trounced in the ratings by BBC rival Strictly Come Dancing, isn’t working without her boss.
Susan, who is signed to Cowell’s record firm Syco, said: “He’ll be annoyed I’m saying this and I’ll probably be punished but there’s no show really without Simon as the top judge.
“There’s no show without the main man.”
And she admitted she hardly sees the man who turned her into a household name after she came second in Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.
She said: “I’m not really in touch with Simon at all nowadays. I never see him – he’s a very busy man.”
Susan spoke out as it emerged X Factor drew its smallest audience for a live show this series on Saturday night.
The show had an average of 8.4million tuning in – 200,000 down on the previous week and four million down on its peak figures, when Cowell was still on the show.
Strictly had an average of 9.6million viewers, peaking at 10.8million.
Meanwhile, judge Tulisa Contostavlos refused to accept an apology from Gary Barlow after he moaned about her “fag-ash breath” when she criticised his act Christopher Maloney.
A show insider said: “She was deeply unimpressed, especially as it was nothing to do with the singers, just a rather desperate attempt to divert attention away from Christopher’s performance.”
