Susan Boyle shocks patrons at Scottish pub; performs on karaoke night

Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle has sold more albums since her win on Britain’s Got Talent than most entertainers in an average year. The singer has the vocals of an angel and the fans flock to see her every chance they get. With so much attention, the artist isn't usually seen outside of a paid venue. However that changed on Sunday when she arrived at the Tartan Arms in Bannockburn, Scotland to sing a few lyrics. Her local pub was surprised and delighted to see the reality show winner turned superstar.
Deciding to have some fun with her friends the professional entertainer sang karaoke at the pub. Singing Patsy Cline's song Crazy the artist had the patrons of the bar clapping and cheering her on as she performed.
Susan Boyle’s career has been wildly successful with 2013 another year of strong performances and great music. With an opportunity to sing in London with Donny Osmond and sharing some of her own hits, the 51-year-old performer is probably welcome at her local pub any time she wants to sing to the locals.

Susan Boyle delights Bannockburn pub goers with festive karaoke

Kevin Wilson couldn't 'believe' it: Susan Boyle belts out the hits in BannockburnAngela Morton

Despite being one of the most successful recording artists in the world, Susan Boyle likes nothing better than a karaoke session with friends.
Enjoying a well earned break over the festive season, the former Britain’s Got Talent star delighted locals at the Tartan Arms in Bannockburn, when she took to the mic at the popular pub.
One lucky lady, who witnessed Susan in action, said: “She was really lovely and very down to earth.
“Susan arrived with two friends and was only too happy to pose for pictures with fans.” One such fan was barman Kevin Wilson, featured in the image above, who was delighted to get a snap with the Blackburn belter.
Ms Boyle performed two songs to cheers from the excited crowds, with her rendition of Patsy Cline’s classic Crazyproving a winner with fans.
Susan was keen to get into the festive spirit, dressed in a green glittery cardigan, with her nails painted bright red.
The Scottish star is looking forward to an exciting 2013, with plans to continue performing, recording and living the musical dream.
Speaking about her goals for the future, she said: “Hopefully more of the same for many years to come. I’m very glad to be here and I want to stay.”
Susan added that singing has truly helped her in life, explaining: “I found through singing I could communicate when words would often fail me and I’d get frustrated.
“Singing removed me from the life I was living and I could become someone totally different, untouchable. Instead of laughing at me people would applaud me and be positive, that’s why I took such comfort in the early days when I was on stage be it in the local theatre or just singing in my local pub. It made me feel better about myself.”
As the chants of “SuBo” resonated around the Tartan Arms on December 27, it’s safe to say Susan has become a national treasure. Happy New Year Susan.

Susan Boyle wanted to be a journalist

London, Nov 30 (IANS)

Scottish singer Susan Boyle, who shot to fame on UK TV show "Britain's Got Talent", always had a dream of landing a job as a reporter, when she was a child.
However, Boyle, 51, now admits she feels strange to see herself mentioned in the publications she wanted to work for, reports contactmusic.com.

"In our house we used to get the Record every day... all the time. The first time I saw myself in the Record it took a while to realise it was actually me. When I was at school I wanted to be a journalist...," said Boyle.

As noted in our Les Miserables review, we weren't huge fans of this big screen adaption.
But Anne Hathaway deserves all the Oscar buzz circulating around Hollywood, thanks to her rendition of the classic track "I Dreamed a Dream."
Was it the best version we've heard of this single over the last few years, though?
Susan Boyle rose to fame by covering the song on Britain's Got Talent, while Lea Michele and Idina Menzel teamed up for a rendition on Glee.

Susan Boyle Uses Religion To Deal With Fame

December 25th, 2012 4:35pm EST

CELEBNAME
Scottish singer Susan Boyle turns to religion whenever she struggles to deal with the pressures of her demanding career.

The "I Dreamed A Dream" hitmaker, who shot to stardom on U.K. TV show Britain's Got Talent in 2009, has made no secret of her difficulty coping with her new found fame and even checked into a rehab clinic in London to deal with exhaustion following the talent contest's finale.

In a revealing interview on BBC Radio Scotland, Boyle, who is a devoted Roman Catholic, admits the Church is her safety net and she finds companionship in God whenever she feels lonely.

She explains, "(The) Church is the backbone of my life and it always has been. It's kind of a safety net. You like to feel you've got someone to talk to and I use God as a companion.

"Sometimes, when I get a quiet space, it's good to meditate. I like to meditate on where I am and who I am - things like that."

Boyle also revealed she had a "weak turn" when she met the Pope two years ago after a performance in Glasgow, Scotland.

She adds, "It was rather nerve-wracking. When they told me I was going to meet his Holiness, I had a wee (little) bit of a weak turn. It was quite something, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You don't know how you feel at the time because you're too numb. It was very humbling."
