Susan Boyle will make her film debut alongside Les Miserables star Samantha Barks in an upcoming holiday movie.
Everyone on set is a delight to work with and it's a fantastic experience to be part of the team."
The Scot, who found fame as a contestant on Britain's Got Talent in 2009, is currently shooting The Christmas Candle, a tender tale set in 1890, about angels and Christmas wishes, with Barks, Hans Matheson and The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey star Sylvester McCoy.
A statement from the 51 year old reads, "Everyone on set is a delight to work with and it's a fantastic experience to be part of the team.I'm really enjoying getting dressed in the period costumes and stepping back in time".Boyle admits she's having a blast on set because she gets to dress in costume.
But Barks, who performed with the cast of Les Miserables at the Oscars on Sunday, reveals she's struggling to keep up with the hectic shooting schedule, adding, "Having just landed from the Academy Awards I had an hour to unpack and repack and get to set. I'm very excited to be part of The Christmas Candle and I'm loving every second".
Contrary to reports in the press today, Susan’s 5th album is in full flow and has not been put on hold for any other artist. She’s recording at the moment and the Global release will be winter 2013.
Note: Below is a very special video produced and posted on the SusanBoyle Forum today by Clarissastarr. As you read through Clarissastarr's note below, which was posted on the forum, you will see how much love and attention to detail Clarissastarr put into making this fine video. It is the mot comprehensive true life video to date. Excellent work. The video is a great tribute to Susan. Thank you Clarissastarr.
Hi Everyone,
I have a present for you. It's a Susan Movie. This video has taken me a long long time to make which is why you haven't seen a new Susan Video from me in quite sometime. This video shows her entire four year career in order of when events we're filmed... I got almost everything she's done and It's a little longer than my previous 4 minute videos, but it's fun and I hope everyone likes it. The longest part was doing the research to figure out when everything was filmed opposed to just airing on TV. I had to guess in a few places but I think it's really close actually
However, now that I'm done this video... finally... I'm going to start updating my older videos and add some newer footage to them. That shouldn't take me very long and then I'll do some more of the 3 minute videos I used to do which only take me a couple days instead of a couple months like this one you are about to see...
The infobahn is alive with Susan Boyle’s rendition (nice word, eh?) of the Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses”. There is an overwhelming opinion that Boyle has now recorded one of the definitive versions of the song. This, however, is seen as sacrilege by others, who cling to memories of the Stones and Gram Parsons. This sort of fuss is frequent when someone decides to cover a song. Why? What’s the issue?
One of the most enduring myths in pop culture is the myth of the auteur. There is a strange obsession about artists singing their own lyrics. I think it comes from our desire to associate the performer with the song – as if most men could actually love you “all night long” or Marilyn Manson was as dark and twisted as he tries to make out (which I doubt – he’s remarkably well-read and articulate). To burst the bubble, all one has to do is think of some absolute defining moments in pop and ask: who cares who wrote them?
Who cares that Elvis Presley didn’t write “Hound Dog” (Lieber & Stoller)? Who cares that Edith Piaf didn’t write “Je ne regrette rien” (Doumont & Vaucaire)? Who cares if Jimi Hendrix didn’t compose “Hey Joe” (Billy Roberts)? Each made history and moved countless millions of people with their versions. What’s more, how would those songs sound if sung by their respective authors? The answer is easy: disappointing in most cases.
If it’s worth singing, sing it well So I can’t knock people singing “covers”. It’s a tribute. If a song is worth writing, it is worth singing well. And for me, the better the singer the happier we should be. Yes, even if that singer is Celine Dion, Nana Mouskouri or in this case the winner of a TV show.
Coming back to “Wild Horses”, Boyle has indeed created a superb version. Yes, it’s a bit incongruous Susan Boyle slipping into a song made famous by Mick Jagger. But she breathes new life into the song. When you look at it from a songwriting perspective, “Wild Horses” is basically a magnificent melody and structure with dubious lyrics. I’m not sure how Boyle manages to put such emotion into Jagger’s mild misogyny, but she does. Being a nice guy at heart, I salute verses such as:
I watched you suffer a dull aching pain Now you decided to show me the same No sweeping exits or offstage lines Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away Wild, wild horses, couldn’t drag me away
But I’ll pass on the rest. We should be thanking Susan Boyle for her voice and heart. We need more of both in the charts.

Many fans were upset and posted replies on the fan sites to the news item in the Mirror, as seen below. One fan's reply really stands out and says what a lot of us feel about Susan. See below what was posted by David on the Amazing Site.
The article above is probably a valid sign that the fickle world that was in a desperate fog of hopelessness back in 2008-09 is now getting back to business as usual. Susan Boyle's epic 'Journey of Hope' gave the world a visible image hope in action at a time when there wasn't much evidence of hope anywhere else. An extreme example of this effect would be the emotional impact of 9-11 on people. For months after 9-11 the church pews were overflowing with folks that were not there before the disaster. After enough time passed and healing was happening things went back to the way they were. The same thing is happening here. Susan was heading straight to the stars while most people were stuck in uncertain circumstances. I know I lived quite a while emotionally off of Susan Boyle's saga of hope while my personal situation continued to be pretty desperate. In some way, I think we enjoyed a sense of success through Susan's success. Like the church, though, we will probably see a falling away of those fans who were just riding the wave of 'hope' that she had created with her astonishing grit and determination against what everybody thought was an impossibility when they first saw her standing on that stage in 2009.
Susan's true fans will remain because they are drawn by her spirit which she openly displays. When the article speaks of Adele having a dazzling repartee that Susan Boyle lacks, that proves the difference between their two types. Artists like Adele, Madonna, K.D.Lang and others appeal to the natural. Susan put her spirit out front and center from day one just as she has all her life. That will never put her on the stage at the Grammy's or the Academy Awards like Adele, but she has captured the hearts of millions who let Susan into their emotional deep places through her soul stirring songs that the Adele's and Madonna's of the world are not even interested in visiting.
Sorry SuBo! Adele's new album causes Susan Boyle's to be put on hold

Between them, they’ve sold almost 50 million albums, won a raft of awards and are worth a cool £36million.
But of Adele and Susan Boyle, it seems only one will be able to build on that any time soon.
Record bosses Stateside have delayed production of Subo’s fifth album, deciding to prioritise star signing Adele instead.
The 24-year-old multi-Grammy winner started work on her new album on Monday, to be released mid-2014.
And while Subo had begun recording for her fifth LP – a jazz-inspired collection – Columbia-Sony, which looks after both acts, has decided to put it on hold in order to focus on Tottenham-born Adele.
My insider tells me: “Both Adele and Subo have done incredibly well and both are very important artists.
“While Subo is still a big-hitter and there are high hopes for her next album, Adele is the priority.
“Stateside, she has never been hotter. Some of those within Susan’s camp are worried that this is not a good sign but label bosses have been quick to reassure them that Susan still has an incredibly bright future.
“Adele is currently in a recording studio in London and it’s in lockdown mode for the next few weeks.
“Four tracks are finished in terms of writing and she’s now laying down preliminary vocals with backing music and singers.
“The rest of the record will be done in LA. The feel is very much Adele going back to her roots, with some modern jazz and a couple of classic old songs.”
