Susan Boyle plans a return to her roots with
six-bedroom palace in former council home
The Britain's Got Talent star plans to convert the house where she grew up after failing to settle in her luxury home
Returning to her roots: Susan Boyle
Susan Boyle is planning to extend her former council house by knocking through to the next-door property.
The singer wants to build a six-bedroom palace at the house she has lived in since she was a baby after neighbours Paul Keaveney and Teresa Miller moved out.
Susan, 52, fell out with them after they accused her of keeping them awake by singing all night.
Now she has snapped up their house in Blackburn, West Lothian.
The Britain’s Got Talent star bought a £300,000 detached villa in March 2010 at the other end of town, but she didn’t settle there.
Susan, who has sold 14 million records and is worth an estimated £11million, bought her former council house for £65,000 in 2009.
She is renting the now empty property next door and hopes to agree a sale.
“Susan tried living in the posh house, as she calls it, but she hated it,” said a source. “The council house is where her roots are.”
Landlords Romano and Claudia Pacitti said they would not discuss tenants.
Teresa Miller, 40, said she and Paul received a notice in September to quit their tenancy, adding: “The landlord said he wanted to sell the property.”
