The Best Of British! Rod Stewart And Susan Boyle To Headline All-Star Cast At Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony
The rocker and BGT winner are confimed to perform
The Commonwealth Games opening ceremony should go down as one of the year's great homegrown sporting events later this month, and organisers are pulling out all the stops to ensure that a slew of star-studded performances will open them with a bang.
Rock legend Rod Stewart has been confirmed to lead the all-star ensemble when the event gets underway on July 23 at Celtic Park in Glasglow.

The 69-year-old will be backed by Britain’s Got Talent winner Susan Boyle, Amy Macdonald and Nicola Benedett as they take to the stage to sing for an expected 40,000-strong crowd, including an appearance by the Queen.
David Grevemberg, the chief executive of Glasgow 2014, said the announcement of the line-up would bring "excitement and anticipation to a whole new level".

Kylie Minogue has been confirmed to close the sporting event on August 3, with a five-song set at Hampden stadium.
The Australian singer left her judging post on The Voice in April, announcing that she would not be retuning for the fourth series on Twitter.
"Due to timing of my tour I won't be back next season for The Voice UK," wrote the 46-year-old singer, adding: "Thanks to all who supported!"
Kylie had previously revealed there was a clash in her work schedule to The Sun newspaper.
"I’m touring later this year and the timings wouldn’t work. We started filming in November last year and I’m on tour in September, October and November this year. I would have to think about it," she said at the time.
