Jonny Cox will be retained as the driver of Susan Boyle.
He picked up an unexpected driving win behind the mare at Ascot Park on August 12. Susan Boyle was to be driven by her Tisbury trainer Kirstin Barclay, but she took ill and was replaced by Cox.
''I can't break up a winning combination,'' Barclay quipped yesterday.
Barclay fears Susan Boyle might miss a start at Gore on Sunday because of a lack of entries for the $3000 one-win mobile. Only seven horses have been entered.
Named after a famous Scottish singer, Susan Boyle has trained up to expectations since her debut win in a maiden fillies and mares' race at Ascot Park.
''I hoppled her today and she felt really sharp,'' said Barclay, who races the daughter of Falcon Seelster on lease with Tisbury owner-trainer Tony Kilkelly and Ray Fidow and Jo Sheat, of Dunedin.
Barclay's other two training wins have also been at Ascot Park - Maravu Kizzy (February, 2011) and Clickety Clack (November 2005).
One of her goals this season is to reach 200 career driving wins. She is on 186.
''It would be nice to get it this season.''
