Susan Boyle to hit a high note at Celtic’s crunch Champions League match
Susan Boyle will sing her heart out at tomorrow’s tense Champions League match between Celtic and Sweden’s Helsingborgs at Parkhead.
The Celtic-daft singing sensation will perform the club’s anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone ahead of the second leg Euro play-off on Wednesday night.
It’s not the first time global star Susan will take to the pitch in front of her team, previously taking part in the half-time draw at Parkhead three years ago.
But this will be the first time the Blackburn-based star will sing for her footie legends.
Back in 2009, a proud Susan waved a Celtic scarf above her head as she embraced the massive crowds.
And they’ll no doubt welcome her back with open arms, as she makes her big return to serenade them.
A spokesman for Celtic told the Daily Record: “Susan is thrilled to be singing in front of her fellow supporters. It will be a great way to set the scene.”
Aside from supporting Celtic, Susan has been keeping herself busy with the tour of I Dreamed A Dream, The Susan Boyle Musical, a stage show which charts the 51-year-old’s amazing rise to fame following her time on Britain’s Got Talent.
Starring Elaine C Smith in the lead role as the 51-year-old, Susan also makes a personal appearance, singing two of her massive hits at the end of the show.
Touring around the country, with the first Scottish date taking place in Aberdeen in April, the story focuses on all parts of Susan’s life, from her upbringing in a close-knit family and her early foray into singing as a schoolchild, right up to Susan's meteoric rise to fame.
I Dreamed a Dream comes to Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre from September 21-29 and Glasgow’s King’s Theatre from October 1-13.
