Congratulations to Susan Boyle, who has had the most successful album overseas by a UK artist for the second year in a row.
The Blackburn's singer's album 'The Gift' sold 3.7 million copies abroad, well ahead of runner-up 'Soldier of Love' by Sade, which sold 2.3 million copies, and more than four times the overseas sales of Take That's 'Progress', which shifted 800,000 copies abroad.
The third best selling album abroad was Mumford and Sons' 'Sigh No More', which sold 1.3 million copies.
More people are needed to help with Polbeth gala, or the event could be in danger of folding. Residents are invited to a meeting in Polbeth village hall at 7pm on Tuesday, 15 March, to try and gain further support for the gala. If there's a poor response, it's likely there will be no gala this year. The gala day is scheduled for Saturday 25 June. Last year's gala queen was crowned by Susan Boyle.
