Julie Walters keen to play Susan Boyle
Wednesday 2 January 2013
Julie Walters has said that she would love to play Susan Boyle in a movie.
The Educating Rita actress has been named by the I Dreamed a Dream singer as her first choice to portray on the big screen, and the 62-year-old star explained that she would be "really honoured" to take on the challenge.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, Walters said: "I'm really honoured, because I'm massively touched by her and she's got a gorgeous voice."
While Julie is the favourite to win the role of Susan, she insists she hasn't yet been offered the gig.
She added: "Nobody has actually asked me to do it, just yet."
Susan, who rose to fame after competing on UK TV talent show Britain's Got Talent in 2009, has previously voiced her belief that no one could play her in film as well as Julie would, saying: "There's only one person I'd love to play me - and that's Julie Walters.
"She would do the job and you just know she would do my story justice."
