Susan Boyle Coming To King Center
Years ago, Susan Boyle dreamed a dream to become a successful singer. Thanks to a viral video of her performance on "Britain's Got Talent" in 2009, that dream has become reality.
The Internet sensation performs at the King Center in Melbourne at 7 p.m. Nov. 2. Tickets, which start at $47.50, go on sale at noon June 16.
The Grammy-nominated singer who had a brief part in the holiday flick, "The Christmas Candle," starts her first U.S. tour in the fall. It's a 21-date city tour that starts in San Diego on Oct. 8 with stops in Texas, Arizona, Georgia and Florida, a news release states.
"This is a brilliant moment for me," Boyle said in the release. "I am so very proud to be announcing that I will be performing in my very own tour in the USA. This really is fantastic. The past five years have been incredible and it just keeps getting better. I have spoken so often about wanting to tour America and be able to visit different cities for the first time, I'm so excited. This really will be fantastic and I can't wait for October. The USA embraced and supported me from the beginning and it really feels like a second home so I can't wait to get on the road and perform there."
In "Britain's Got Talent," Boyle sang "I Dreamed a Dream" from "Les Miserables" and visibly wowed judges Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden.
