SB All Music Review for Home For Christmas (B&N)

Home for Christmas

First review from AllMusic for Home For Christmas. (used by Barnes and Noble)

Review by Heather Phares
Susan Boyle's second holiday album, Home for Christmas, made headlines for its duet with Elvis Presley, "O Come All Ye Faithful." However, there's more to the album than this collaboration; once again, the former Britain's Got Talent winner is in fine voice on songs like "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and the title track. Boyle also shares the spotlight with Johnny Mathis on "When a Child Is Born," and the Overtones on "The Little Drummer Boy." Home for Christmas is a more traditionally festive album than its predecessor The Gift -- there are no Lou Reed or Leonard Cohen covers here -- but that just adds to the familiar glow of these songs and performances.
