In the five years since she shot to fame on Britain's Got Talent Susan Boyle has gone from modest beginnings to to best selling artist.
Her stunning rendition of I Dreamed a Dream and Cry Me a River earned her the love of the nation.
But despite all her success it seems what Susan was really looking for was a loving partner and has finally found one.
The 53-year-old Scot was touring America when "a perfect gentleman" chatted her up at her hotel.
Despite never having been kissed before, she enjoyed a romantic dinner with her new love interest and hopes he will visit her in Scotland.
She told The Sun newspaper: "It's very early days so we'll see what happens. I hope he comes over.
"I don't want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him. All I'll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy."
Last month Susan exclusively revealed to 3AM that she wants to adopt a child and give them the things she never had growing up.
She said: “I have so much love to give, I have so much to give someone that I want to adopt.
“I want to adopt a child who doesn’t have much, someone who I can really give something to. It’s a way of giving back for me.
“I have been considering it for about a year now, I love children, I always have but I couldn’t have them.
“I want to give a youngster what I didn’t have, and now I can do that.”

Susan has been in contact with social services and has set the adoption process in motion.
She said: “For the last couple of weeks it has got serious, I hope that they see what I can give. I know I’m not married and I’m over 50 but I am waiting to see.
“I know it is all a long process but I’ve never been more keen to do it. The rules can be quite strict but let’s hope.
“We’ll have to see what social services say but it would make me so happy.”
Susan recently spoke out about coping with Asperger's syndrome after finally being diagnosed.
Reports of her erratic behaviour had been put down to the brain damage she suffered when she was starved of oxygen at birth.
But the millionaire singer has since revealed she has a form of autism.
Susan said: "You always feel that eyes are on you. It is getting better though.
"Since the diagnosis, I've learned strategies for coping and the best one is to just walk away. If I feel I’m going to take a mood swing, I get up and leave."
