You've seen the list of nominees, now take a closer look at the artists nominated in the Traditional Pop Field for the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards.
This year's nominee quintet includes veterans such as Tony Bennett, Harry Connick Jr. and Barbra Streisand, with the former two picking up awards in this category previously, and newcomers Susan Boyle and Seth MacFarlane. Bennett and MacFarlane are the only artists with other GRAMMY nominations this year, scoring nods for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Body And Soul," a duet with the late Amy Winehouse, and Best Song Written For Visual Media for "Christmastime Is Killing Us (From Family Guy)," respectively.
Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album
Bennett's Duets II is his 12th album to receive a nomination in this category. Bennett has won in this category a record 10 times, including his first duets album, Duets: An American Classic, in 2006. Duets II made headlines when it became the first No. 1 album of Bennett's 60-year career. Streisand's What Matters Most — Barbra Streisand Sings The Lyrics Of Alan And Marilyn Bergman is her ninth recording to receive a nomination in this category. The Bergmans have written the lyrics for some of Streisand's signature hits, including "The Way We Were" and "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." Connick's In Concert On Broadway is his sixth album to receive a nomination in this category. The album is tied to a PBS special of the same name. Connick won in this category in 2001 for Songs I Heard. Boyle's holiday album, The Gift, is her first album to receive a nomination in this category. Her debut album, I Dreamed A Dream, was a finalist for Best Pop Vocal Album last year. MacFarlane's Music Is Better Than Words is his first album to receive a nomination in this category. MacFarlane is the creator of the Fox TV series "Family Guy," which is in its 10th season.
