The Hospice
This is an exciting and challenging time for the Hospice as we embark on our Brick by Brick Appeal to raise the remaining £15 million of the £20 million required to build a 21st century Hospice for Glasgow.
The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, since its inception in the 1980s, has been located beside the River Clyde in Glasgow City Centre, providing free of charge specialist palliative care for people with terminal illnesses, primarily cancer, and support for their families and carers.
Every year the team cares for over 1,200 patients and families, however, space is limited and following careful consideration, there is a pressing need for us to relocate to a purpose built facility on a site adjacent to Bellahouston Park gifted by Glasgow City Council.
This development will be a major step forward in the provision of palliative care services for the people of Glasgow and will provide greater flexibility in delivering and improving the current services while lowering the age limit to those aged 15 and above.
But we can’t do it alone and it’s through this event and your support that we will build a new home for Glasgow’s Hospice.
