Personal Update From Susan
Hello Grace
It's been awhile since I have written to you but here's what I have been up to over the past few weeks.
| I thoroughly enjoyed my first live shows. In fact I had an absolute ball. Performing in Scotland, 24 songs that I personally love, with an amazing team behind me was absolutely fantastic and I can honestly say I loved every moment and can't wait to do more. I also want to thank my fans from around the world who flew in and watched the shows. Especially those who came to every show. I hope you enjoyed them all. | |
| The reaction from the crowds was wonderful. I will never be able to put into words seeing over a thousand people on their feet dancing along to River Deep, Mountain High and the applause. There is something quite magical about those moments and memories that will last for a lifetime. I really did have the best few weeks ever, it's a personal highlight and here's to many more shows in the not to distant future. | |
| Since the tour, I have continued rehearsing and keeping my vocals up to par. I also finished recording the last few tweaks on the album, which I am exceptionally proud of and I hope you will enjoy to. There will be announcements in the coming weeks, but for now it's a surprise and you'll have to be patient for a little bit longer.... I know you are all so keen to know details. | |
| The last couple of weeks have been busy as well. I've been to see Avenue Q in Edinburgh which was a great show and very funny. I definitely recommend going and seeing it. I also went and saw the new Sandra Bullock film, Heat, which was hilarious. Again another must see. I do enjoy going to the cinema and sitting in a film where you are all laughing at the same time and I'm also partial to a box of popcorn. | |
| I've been out for dinner with friends. My particular favourite was Wo-Wong Chinese in Glasgow and we even saw Ali McCoist there as well. He's the manager at Rangers football club, the rivals to my club the Celtics. | |
| I met with two fans, Judith and Carol in the Balbardie which was wonderful and I was spoilt rotten again by them. I do enjoy spending time with fans, well friends really as they have been with me since the beginning of this incredible journey. | |
| Last Wednesday I flew down to London to record some final pieces for the film, my Scottish accent was a bit thick in places so I had to rerecord some of my lines so you wouldn't need subtitles. Note to self, must enunciate more! I worked till late in the evening so I missed the England - Scotland football game. Scotland lost, but never mind. Better luck next time boys. | |
| Thursday was the album cover photo shoot. I had a great time shooting that in the studio. The photographer was wonderful and put me at ease and I got to wear some lovely outfits. Fingers crossed they got some pictures they liked. It was a very relaxed day and the entire team were great. I'm no model but I gave it my best shot. | |
| On the 28th of August I will be performing
I Dreamed A Dream at the Special Olympics held in Bath. I particularly wanted to be a part of this as it's so incredibly important to show support. My parents were told that I would amount to very little when I was a baby and look what I managed to achieve, so I want to support an organisation that stands for what I believe in, which is no matter what your disability if you persevere, work hard and have faith you can achieve what you set your heart on.
I will write again soon with more news, but until then I send you my very best wishes, hope you are all having a wonderful summer and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
