SUSAN Boyle is expected to become patron of the struggling theatre where she first performed her signature song I Dreamed a Dream.
She has been asked to back the Regal Theatre in Bathgate, West Lothian, where she appeared in talent shows before finding fame on Britain’s Got Talent.
SuBo is understood to be enthusiastic about the plan but talks have been put on hold while she makes guest appearances in I Dreamed a Dream, the musical about her life.
If she says yes, she will have her photograph placed prominently in the foyer and have a room named after her in the theatre, which opened as a cinema in 1938.
An insider said: “She has achieved something remarkable and it would be great to recognise her in this way in her own community.”
The Regal already has a key role in the Susan Boyle story.

Charles Earley, chairman of the theatre board, watched Susan perform songs such as Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Cry Me a River at talent shows across West Lothian.
He suggested she try something from Les Miserables and she performed I Dreamed a Dream at the Regal.
Her version of the same song at the 2009 Britain’s Got Talent auditions propelled her to superstardom.
Last September, Susan returned to the theatre to support the performers at a showcase evening for local talent.
SuBo, who lives in nearby Blackburn, delighted fans by signing autographs and posing for photos.
Charles said yesterday: “I’m afraid I can’t comment as nothing has been finalised.”
