Susan Boyle reveals she will 'cherish' meeting the QueenSusan Boyle has realised another of her life long ambitions, after meeting and performing for the Queen on Sunday.

The Scots singing sensation joined a host of stars, including Rolf Harris and Dame Helen Mirren, for the extra special Diamond Jubilee Pageant at Windsor Castle.

Susan performed Mull of Kintyre, complete with pipe band, before meeting the monarch backstage.

She told The Sun: “Another dream ticked off my wish list. To say it was an honour was an understatement.

“The best moment was meeting the Queen and Dame Helen Mirren, a memory I shall cherish.”

The pageant featured performances from some of the Queen’s favourite acts and spectacular horse shows, to celebrate her love of all things equestrian.

Speaking before the event, Simon Brooks Ward, the director of the pageant, said: “The Diamond Jubilee Pageant will reflect the truly global impact The Queen has had during her 60-year reign by bringing horses, people, music and their culture from around the world to join the party.

"When you think of all the State occasions The Queen has been involved with, horses have always been there. The Queen's passion for horses is one that the public recognise as her most treasured."

For Susan, the performance was the icing on the cake of a busy weekend, which also saw her wow on the Britain’s Got Talent final, with a moving rendition of Madonna’s You'll See.

Performing the queen of pop and meeting the Queen are just the latest achievements in a long list that Susan can look back on and be extremely proud of.

Since auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, she has gone on to enjoy global success, breaking musical records previously held by the Beatles, singing for the Pope and now she can add royalty to her long list of celebrity fans. Not bad for a church volunteer from Blackburn who came second on BGT.
