Bring to Boyle ... Gerry promises wannabes stardom with his Fame Pack

SINGING sensation Susan Boyle’s big brother is a man with big ideas.
And now Gerry Boyle is promising wannabes the big time — instant fame just like his sister.
But unlike SuBo, who became world famous overnight after her 2009 appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, Gerry’s style of stardom comes with a hefty £14,000 price tag.
He strenuously denies he’s cashing in on Susan’s name.
He says: “Who better to help someone become a star than the brother of a world famous singer?”
In an interview with The Scottish Sun, the dad-of-one lays out his blueprint to become a player on a global stage alongside his sister. Next week Gerry will launch his ambitious Instant World group.
Showbiz hopefuls can buy Gerry’s Fame Pack for £13,995, which promises a record contract with his own label Instant Music.
But the talent agency is just the tip of the iceberg.
The 58-year-old also wants to stage a Boyle Family Christmas Special at the end of this year.
That’ll feature three of SuBo’s siblings along with the superstar Scot — all performing duets with US family entertainers The Osmonds.
He’s currently in talks to produce a weekly variety show from Edinburgh’s 200-seater Dominion theatre venue — broadcasting to cinema audiences across the world.
Gerry insists he also has an online radio and TV station plus a glossy magazine in the pipeline. And he’s unveiled plans to stage an annual T In The Park-style rock festival from next year at Ingliston, with headline acts like supergroup The Who. Gerry’s also offering £1MILLION prize money to a competition winner.
But exactly how can he make people stars?
Gerry explains: “I’m after people who’ve been honing their craft on stage for four or five years while working as a plumber or painter and decorator during the day.
“I want undiscovered talent — people who really know what getting on a stage and entertaining an audience is all about. Sure, everyone says ‘wow’ about the £13,995 fee. But over the five-year contract that’s only about £60 a week.
“For that money they get a record contract with Instant Music with a track included on the Instant Album out in the autumn.”
And Gerry reckons he has a surefire way of making his album a hit — by dangling a golden carrot.
He reveals: “If you buy the album there’s the chance to win £1million.
“All people have to do is pick the best six tracks on the album and if we agree with them they win the money. I have a million-pound kitty just sitting there.”
But he adds: “We guarantee to make people famous, because we’re also the producers of Sunday Night At The Dominion.
“Then there will be The Gerry Boyle Show, which will be a music and conversation type show like Michael Parkinson. It hasn’t started yet, but I’ve been singing for years, doing cabaret and stuff, even before Susan did.”
He also has a show planned for four of the nine Boyle siblings.
Gerry continues: “We will be producing The Boyle Family Christmas Special — with myself, my brother John and sister Mary who has a fabulous voice, and of course, Susan. It’s not for me to say which of us has the best voice — the audience will decide.
“But we’re talking to a very famous American family — The Osmonds — about being guests.
“Our new talent will be playing the Dominion too, but with a top of the bill act you’ve heard of.”
Gerry, who lives in Musselburgh, East Lothian, with wife of 30 years, Lesley, and their 23-year-old son Darren, would also give his wannabes a full makeover.
But Gerry insists he would NOT have given his famous sister a new image. Bizarrely he would have left her just as she appeared when she walked on stage at her famous BGT auditions. He says: “The Americans loved Susan for who and what she was. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.”
The former mechanic quit the motor trade in his teens to spend his career in sales in marketing.
But he’s always dreamed of launching his own empire.
In 1998 he produced a Through The Keyhole video in collaboration with Sir David Frost. He admits: “We lost a lot of money through that, but you live and learn.”
Gerry claims he put his plans to launch Instant World on hold because of Susan’s success.
He says: “I came up with the idea in 2008, but then in 2009 everything changed.
“The irony is back then Susan asked me how Instant Music was coming along in a visit to my house one night. She added, ‘Well, I just asked because I’m going on to Britain’s Got Talent’.
“And we all know what happened after that — 30million album sales.”
Despite protesting he isn’t in it for the fame, Gerry likes the reflected limelight from his wee sis.
He has his own website — gerry-boyle.com — featuring a cheesy promo pic of him in a tux along with the opportunity to download his single All Of My Days which was released last year but failed to trouble the charts.
And he recalls with relish the moment he was “mobbed” by Susan fans last month at the premiere of her musical I Dreamed A Dream.
Gerry beams: “They’d seen my picture and heard my song on my website.”
All the companies Gerry claims to have tie-ins with have confirmed to The Scottish Sun they are in discussions or have deals in place with Boyle.
While seasoned entertainer Craig McMurdo — signed up to host Boyle’s Dominion shows — insists Gerry’s plans are all above board.
He said: “Gerry’s always been brimming with ideas. Being the brother of Susan has opened doors.”
Gerry admits: “Yes, doors have flown open everywhere.
“The down side is sometimes your point doesn’t get over because of the Susan circus. On the other hand, 100million around the world know who you are.”
Gerry even claims multi-millionaire Susan has helped finance his business venture. He confirms: “She’s always been very good to me, that’s all I can say about that.”
But Gerry later appears to back track on his promise to turn all his wannabes into household names.
He says: “We don’t guarantee you’ll be a star. At the end of the day, if the public don’t take to you for whatever reason, there’s nothing we can do about that.”
Last night a family friend said: “Gerry’s always dreamed of finding that pot of gold.
“What a pity he couldn’t see it right under his nose for all those years.”
A spokesperson for Susan Boyle refused to comment.
Gerry's big ideas
No money? No problem
GERRY insists if wannabes can’t afford £14,000 they can BORROW it from the ‘Bank of Boyle’.
He’s offering business wannabes start-up opportunities with The Instant Business Pack scheme.
Just like his Fame Pack, this will cost £13,995 and is aimed at people wanting to start a new company.
But if you don’t have the dosh, you can borrow it from ‘banker’ Boyle.
He explains: “We provide a bank account, a solicitor, and someone to answer their phone calls 24/7.
“We also will design their website — all you need before you even get near a customer.
“They can borrow the £13,995, from us, or from a bank. It’s all funded by ourselves — from The Bank Of Boyle, if you like.”
Gerry and his Instant World Group are registered and approved by the Financial Services Authority.
He adds: “We will actually bring people’s business ideas alive.”
