She has sold millions of albums and has a musical stage show of her life, now Susan Boyle is to make her debut on the big screen.
The singer is filming period drama The Christmas Candle with Samantha Barks from Les Miserables. The 51-year-old singing sensation from Blackburn said: “I can’t believe I’m making a film. I’m very excited to be a part of The Christmas Candle.
“Everyone is a delight to work with. It’s a fantastic experience to be part of the team.
“I’m really enjoying getting dressed in the period costumes and stepping back in time.”
Last week the Courier revealed Susan is to be the chieftain at this year’s West Lothian Highland Games, on May 18.
Like Britain’s Got Talent runner-up SuBo, Barks found fame on a TV talent show. She was a runner-up on the BBC’s I’d Do Anything.
Sylvester McCoy, John Hannah, Barbara Flynn and James Cosmo are also in the cast. Filming started on the Isle of Man last week.
