Susan Boyle and Nicholas McDonald are amongst the Scottish stars who have pledged their support to raise money for SCIAF.
The Britain’s Got Talent and X Factorfavourites are giving up treats for the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund campaign, Wee Box, Big Change.
Susan has long supported the campaign, previously giving up sweets, chocolates and biscuits.
This year, she has decided to ditch her beloved chips for Lent. Susan explained: "It makes me really sad to know that so many people in the world today are still living in terrible poverty and struggling to feed themselves.
"I know the money I save from giving up chips and donating it to SCIAF will help people in need to work their way out of a life of poverty. We can all do something to help people less fortunate than ourselves this Lent. What will you do?"
Nicholas McDonald is currently on the road with the X Factor tour, but he won’t be snacking on chocolate backstage.
The Motherwell lad will instead be popping his sweetie funds into the Wee Box.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon is following in Nicky’s footsteps and also giving up chocolate.
He said: “Global poverty and hunger are big challenges but they can be overcome and we can all do out bit.”
Rangers boss Ally McCoist is going to do a 24-hour-fast for the charity because he feels “we sometimes take what we have for granted. I do this for SCIAF every year.”
